Kaczmarski

Polish painter and educator. He studied painting at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio run by prof. Stanisław Szczepański (1949-1950), then at the Department of Painting at Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad (1950-1952). Kaczmarski graduated from the Kiev Institute of Fine Arts in 1956 in the studio run by prof. Aleksij Szowkunienko. In years 1964-1970 the artist reviewed exhibitions in “Art Review”, and in years 1972-1973 he was the editor in chief of “Polish Art Review” quarterly devoted to Polish art. He had collective exhibitions with “Powiśle” group of painters,  then in years 1962-1976 along with Realist Painters Group. Kaczmarski took part in numerous collective exhibitions of country-wide, thematic and festival kind as well as in presentations of Polish art abroad. His works are to be found in collections of national museums, local museums in Poland, museums in Damascus, Havana and in many private collections. In years 1981-1987 the artist boycotted official stream of culture by displaying his works only in the Museum of Archdiocese in Warsaw and abroad. Since 1972 he has presided in the Board of Polish Artists Association many times and he has been a member of the International Creative Arts Organisation AIAP. Since 1977 Kaczmarski has been a lecturer on painting at Art Academies in: Dresden, Wrocław, Toruń and Olsztyn.
