Banecka studied painting at Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She completed it in 1991 in the studio run by prof. Jan Tarasin, and she got additional diploma in graphic art in the studio run by prof. Rafał Strent. For the last couple of years she has been a lecturer of workshop and project graphic art. Juror and co-organiser of the International Book Art Festival. She is a member of “Hestia” chapter which grants ASP credit books in Gdańsk. Banecka has been a curator in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad. The artist has won 48 prestigious awards and honours both Polish and international: among others - bronze medal at Graphic Art Triennial in Osaka (Japan, 1991); Grand Prix at International Art Triennial in Majdanek (2003); Grand Prix in “Warsaw Graphic Art” competition (2002, award by the Minister of Culture and Art); I prize at International Fine Arts Festival in Warsaw (2006).
Banecka has cooperated with the Polish State Radio – she designed covers of numerous widely-known longplays. For the last four years the artist has been cooperating with Guliwer, children’s theatre, where she makes posters, catalogues and programmes. Many of her art catalogues and posters projects got awarded. Banecka has had over 30 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She also took part in over 200 collective exhibitions in Poland, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Norway, Denmark, Japan, Finland, France, Spain, Italy. Her works are to be found in museums and private collections among others: in Canada, Arab Emirates, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Brazil, Japan, France, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Spain, England, USA and Finland.
The artist does a unique workshop graphic art making her own experimental techniques. She is also involved in project graphic art and artistic books. She has doctor’s degree in artistic graphics.
